When Should You Replace a Salt Cell?

Use cell-life information when the system provides it
Some generators track cell life or operating hours. Treat those model-specific indicators as stronger evidence than the calendar age of the pool.
Match replacement by generator family, not pool gallons alone

Confirm normal operation after replacement
After a compatible replacement is installed according to the manufacturer procedure, restore circulation, verify salinity and flow, check for leaks or warnings, and test the pool's actual free chlorine. A new cell does not eliminate the need to maintain the water and pump schedule.
