How to Clear a Green Pool

Step 1: Make sure this is actually algae
Cloudy green water, slippery walls, and green material that brushes into suspension strongly suggest algae. Clear green water can point to dissolved metals. If you are unsure, test before treating.
Step 2: Restore circulation

If algae repeatedly returns, investigate cyanuric acid, circulation dead spots, filter condition, and recurring organic load rather than simply increasing routine chemical use.
